Vettaikaran is an upcoming Tamil movie starring Vijay and Anushka Shetty in the lead roles. Vettaikaran (Hunter) is being directed by debutant Babu Sivan, a former associate of masala filmmaker Dharani.

Vettaikaran is said to be a family entertainer with all essential ingredients that mass want in a Ilayathalapathy film. Vijay is pairing up with the glamorous Anushka for the first time in Vettaikaran for which the shooting has started in November.

The film is being produced by M. Balasubramanian and B.Gurunath Meiyappan. This film is expected to be released in 2009 December 18th
